Community Involvement

Flanagan State Bank has been focused on the success of our local communities and neighbors since inception.  Investing in our communities is an important value to our local and family-owned bank. We were excited to formalize our giving with an ongoing donation program that designates a portion of profits for the community each year. While each donation varies, Flanagan State Bank looks for a focus in long-lasting community benefit or education and training opportunities that could potentially have a lifelong impact. We hope that each donation will make our local communities a better place to work, learn and live and that our customers can be proud of banking at a financial institution that truly cares about their communities.

We’ve donated throughout our communities over the years, but more recent contributions include:

Benson, IL: Our donation allowed Roanoke-Benson Junior High School to purchase and install three new smart boards in their classrooms. Click to learn more.

Bloomington, IL: Our sponsorship of the Agriculture program at Heartland Community College supported the Ag classrooms and student tuition.

El Paso, IL: Our sponsorships have included a major update to the playground space at the El Paso-Gridley Centennial campus, as well as a donation to the EPG Unit 11 Ag Dept that allowed them to install six new welding booths for student vocational training and perform needed electrical upgrades. Flanagan, IL: The community we were founded in, which means our giving back started here! Some of our donations include contributions to the Flanagan-Cornell Unit 74 School District athletic track and weight room, the donation of our original bank building to become the Flanagan Public Library, and tuition and transportation for vocational training for ten local students. We’re grateful that due to the support of our customers, our donations over the years in Flanagan have exceeded $250,000 to date.

Gridley, IL: Our most recent sponsorship in Gridley meant new desks and chairs for students and teachers in four math classrooms at the new El Paso-Gridley Middle School building. Click here to read more.

Le Roy, IL: Our sponsorship helped the LeRoy School District #2 build the new performing arts auditorium at the elementary school. The auditorium opened in August of 2022.
